Primary Management Fixation

Fixation in orthopedics is the process by which an injury is immobilized. This can be achieved by internal fixation with an intramedullary rod, Kirschner wire, or dynamic compression plate; or by external fixation using an expanding external fixator, a spatial Taylor frame, or an Ilizarov apparatus.
